This masterpiece is a small measure made of thin glass in a shape of the frustum of a cone. It has a round base and its capacity is 13.9cm³. It was used to measure substances such as oil with a high degree of accuracy.

The inspector of weights and measures, Al-Muhtasb, inspected and supervised markets to ensure that quantities being sold were measured to agree with accurate criteria.
