This statue of Senenmut, the architect of the temple of Deir el-Bahari, is enveloped in a long robe with the symbol of Hathor around his head.

Senenmut was the most favored and influential person at the court of Queen Hatshepsut. Although he was from a modest background, he was promoted to the highest official positions.

Senenmut was also the tutor of Neferure, the only child of Hatshepsut and Tuthmosis the Second.
