The amulet depicts an oryx, a large desert-dwelling antelope that was hunted by the Egyptians. The oryx is easily recognized by its horns. The oryx is standing on the ground and has plants attached to its neck. The oryx was the sacred animal of the god Pakhet and was venerated at Beni Hassan.
