The tomb of the chief scribe Psammetik belonged to the end of the Twenty-Sixth Dynasty.

It was discovered at Saqqara in 1863. Three exquisite sculptures made of schist were discovered in this tomb. Schist is a kind of rock composed mainly of mica.

The master artist modeled and polished the statues of Osiris, Isis, and Hathor who protect Psammetik. Osiris and Isis accompany the deceased to protect him in the underworld while Hathor provides him with food.
