Kapati Linen Fragment with Birds

The fine linen fragment is an example of the Kapati. It has a band of decoration consisting of stylized birds within oval medallions.

Above this, an inscription band bears the name of Samuel Ibn Morcos "Musa" and the date of Rajab 88 after Hijra (June AD 707). It is one of the oldest dated fabric fragments known.
