Khawand Baraka was the mother of Sultan Shaaban. She was known as a very generous and charitable lady.
When she went on pilgrimage in 770 after Hijra (AD 1369), she took with her a hundred Royal Mamluks, musicians, and camels laden with goods. That year was remembered as the year of the mother of the sultan. She was married to Prince Iljay Al-Yusufi. |
