The Citadel of the Mountain is a fortress. The structure consists of two sections. One section is for the military, while the other is the residential area.

This is the gate of the Citadel that looks out over the Sultan Hassan School and the Mosque of Al Refai. It is considered to be one of the largest and most beautiful Islamic buildings.

Bab Al-Qarrafa is a vaulted passage. At the end of the vault radius there are segments of spherical triangles.

The Walls of Sultan Salah Al-Din or Sultan Saladin are simple walls that start from Bab Al-Torba lane and end at the northeast at Darb Al-Mahruq in a half circle.
