Al-Muizz Abu-Tamim Mu'd is the fourth Fatimid Caliph in Morocco and the first Caliph in Egypt. He sent his army commander, Jawhar the Sicilian, to establish Cairo. His rule is characterized by wisdom, gravity and sound opinion.
Fatimid Caliph Al-Amir Bi Ahkam Allah succeeded his father, Caliph Al-Musta'li, at the age of five. The de facto ruler was the Vizier Al-Afdal Shahinshah, son of Amir Al-Juyush.
The Caliph Al-Aziz Billah Abu Mansour Ibn Al-Mu'izz ledin Illah; was born in Al-Mahdeyya city in Tunisia. He was appointed Caliph in Egypt after the death of his father, Caliph Al-Mu'izz, and kept his position as a Caliph for almost twenty one years. He was famous for his generosity. His period is considered to have been one of the most flourishing of the Fatimid period.
Al-Zahir gained the Caliphate while still in his teens, as he was a boy of sixteen years, under the guardianship of his aunt Sitt Al-Molk, to whom together with others, he left the responsibility for ruling the country.
