Pennedjem the Second held the position of "High Priest of Amun" during the Twenty-First Dynasty. He had two wives and his son Psusennes the Second was the last king of this dynasty.
He was buried in his own tomb at Deir el-Bahari, although it later became a refuge for many royal mummies. His mummy and his coffin were found completely intact.
The mummy was colored with red ocher and the body cavity was packed with linen parcels, some contained the embalmed viscera and others sawdust; his arms were packed with mud. |
