This medical cautery is made of a fine metal rod. It consists of two pointed edges with a grip in the middle.

It was used for cauterization. Cauterization has a special rank in ancient medicine, as it was used to stop bleeding, to open an abscess or for other reasons.

The physician would frame the area with ink for more precision.
