This rectangular piece of silk fabric with striped designs is from the Fatimid period. The fabric is patterned with braided designs in red on a yellow background. The designs have blue quadrilaterals below red plant motifs.
Flanking this band are inscription bands woven in white on a blue background, and in other parts on a red background bearing the phrase "Victory from God" repeated several times. |
